Two hospitalized in Hit-And-Run on Avenue of the Giants south of Myers Flat
Myers Flat, CA (June 17, 2020) – Wednesday morning, Paul Schmollinger and Saundra Stephenson sustained injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Avenue of the Giants.
The accident happened around 2 a.m. on June 17. Dispatched officers responded and located a Subaru SUV on the scene.
A silver GMC pickup truck was reportedly traveling north on Avenue of the Giants just South of Myers Flat when for unclear reasons, the truck collided with a Subaru SUV before it overturned and collided again with a power pole.
The two occupants of Subaru, Schmollinger and Stephenson, sustained minor injuries.
Subsequently, medics transported them to Jerold Phelps Hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, the driver of the truck fled the scene.
Police still continue searching the truck driver, and are asking anyone with information that may lead to the identity of the driver to contact the CHP Garberville office.
