78-Year-Old Sequim Man Hospitalized after Collision near 387th Avenue Southeast
GOLD BAR, WA (August 12, 2018) – On Sunday afternoon, an elderly man was injured in a motorcycle accident on Highway 2 in Snohomish County.
According to reports, the collision took place around 3:10 PM on eastbound State Route 2, near 387th Avenue Southeast. 27-year-Old Trevor Holmgren of Bellingham was driving east in a Silver 2003 Audi A4 when he slowed for the traffic ahead.
A 2014 Harley Davidson XL1200, ridden by 78-year-old Paul Peterson of Sequim, was reportedly following too closely behind Holmgren’s car. He did not stop in time and he rear-ended the Audi.
Peterson suffered injuries and was then transported to a hospital for treatment. The extent of his injuries was not immediately known and his current medical condition is unknown at this time. Holmgren and his passenger, 24-year-old Jessica Harrigan of Scottsdale, Arizona, were uninjured.
Alcohol and drugs are not considered to be possible contributing factors but the incident is still under investigation.
