1 Dead in Tucson Car Accident on East Speedway Boulevard

TUCSON, AZ (March 30, 2022) – Last Monday, Paul Jones William died following a March 9 crash on East Speedway Boulevard.

The fatal accident happened on March 9th at about 12:30 p.m. in the 6800 block of East Speedway Boulevard.

After the Tucson crash, responders transported the driver of a blue 1994 Chevrolet Suburban, Paul Jones Williams, to St. Joseph’s Hospital. Officers confirmed that Williams suffered life-threatening injuries and last Monday, he died of his injuries.

Meanwhile, detectives revealed that the Suburban traveled at a high speed on Speedway Boulevard and North Kolb Road. Then, it crashed into the back of a blue Scion TC, hit a Dodge Durango and a Toyota Camry. Eventually, it veered off the road and hit a large concrete pillar.

Three occupants of the other vehicles received treatment at the scene.

Also, officers confirmed that Williams failed to wear a seatbelt at the time of the crash. However, the authorities ruled out drugs or alcohol as factors in the crash.

Due to the limited information available, the crash remains under active investigation.
