Paul Brown of Fort Bragg Killed in Sherwood Road Hit and Run, Aaron Manning Involved
Mendocino County, CA (May 07, 2021) – On Friday, 41-year-old Paul Brown died in a hit-and-run crash on Sherwood Road.
The fatal Brooktrails accident took place at approximately 1:20 a.m. east of Birch Terrace.
Apparently, the victim was walking west on the south asphalt shoulder of Sherwood Road.
Just then, a silver 2018-2020 Hyundai Accent crossed over the solid double yellow lines, across the eastbound lane of the road, and crashed with the man.
Unfortunately, the impact of the accident resulted in fatal injuries to the pedestrian.
The Hyundai driver immediately fled the scene. It drove westbound on Sherwood Road.
The vehicle sustained front damage on the left headlight assembly and its front bumper.
Meanwhile, the CHP Garberville Area is asking the public’s assistance to locate the involved vehicle.

[UPDATE] CHP says Willits man Aaron L. Manning, 26, “voluntarily contacted law enforcement” following the hit and run.
Manning came forward, claiming responsibility.
Even so, they continue to investigate the crash. Manning has yet to be arrested.
