Austin Cline, Patrick Riel Hospitalized after Nine Mile Falls Car Accident
NINE MILE FALLS, WA (January 10, 2019) – Two men sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital after being hit by a vehicle on Highway 291 on January 8.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the two-car crash happened about 6:00 p.m. on Highway 291 near Charles Road at milepost 9 about four miles south of Suncrest.
Patrick Riel, 29, from Spokane and Austin Cline, 31, from Spokane Valley, were standing at the back of their disabled Honda Civic on the right side of the roadway southbound, when Janet Lemaire, 57, of Nine Mile Falls, veered off in a Volkswagen Eos and hit the vehicle along with the two men.
Riel and Cline were both taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center, where their conditions are unknown at this time. Lemaire was reportedly unharmed.
According to WSP, drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision which remains under investigation.
