Patricio Aguilera Dies in Violent Traffic Crash Near 76th Avenue [Thermal, CA]

Thermal, CA (November 19, 2024) On Sunday morning, 45-year-old Patricio Aguilera of Winchester was killed and a 47-year-old Thermal man was hurt after a horrific rear-end collision on Route 86.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the deadly crash happened at about 6:35 a.m. on California Route 86, south of 76th Avenue.

Reports say that authorities have identified Aguilera of Winchester as the motorcyclist who died following the rear-end collision

Authorities say that a 1987 Nissan pickup was traveling north in the slow lane, while Aguilera’s Harley Davidson was in the fast lane. Aguilera attempted to switch lanes but rear-ended the Nissan. The impact ejected Aguilera from his motorcycle, and he landed on the highway’s center median.

The Nissan spun out and came to a stop on the right shoulder. Its driver, a 47-year-old man from Thermal, sustained minor injuries. Aguilera was pronounced dead approximately 25 minutes after the crash.
