2 People Killed in Bertram Auto Accident on State Highway 29

BERTRAM, TX (December 6, 2024) – Tuesday night, Patricia Torres-Jimenez and her daughter died in a crash on State Highway 29.

The incident happened on State Highway 29.

According to authorities, a Dodge Charger traveling at a high rate of speed struck a Toyota that was stopped and preparing to turn into a laundromat along SH 29. Then, the force of the crash ejected a 2-year-old female passenger of the vehicle into the roadway. Also, the collision sent the Toyota into oncoming traffic where it collided with a semi-truck, was again pushed into the flow of traffic, and collided with a westbound BMW.

Moreover, responders pronounced the driver of the Toyota, identified as 31-year-old Torres-Jimenez, and her 2-year-old daughter, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the driver of the Dodge to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Bertram Police continued to investigate the crash.
