Crash in Clark County Kills Patricia Slater of Longview
Clark County, WA (August 12, 2021) – On Thursday, 35-year-old Patricia Slater of Longview, died, and children were injured in a vehicle crash on Interstate 5.
The crash happened at about 12:02 a.m. near the 179th Street interchange.
A southbound 2005 Mazda sedan driven by Slater slammed into a fully lit WSDOT attenuator truck that was parked in the freeway’s left lane.
Unfortunately, Slater died at the accident scene.
Furthermore, Slater’s three passengers suffered injuries.
Emergency responders took the 3-year-old Amari Slater, 5-year-old Jocelynn Slater, and 9-year-old Logan Slater to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland.
Moreover, 54-year-old Deena Bringham of Vancouver, the attenuator truck driver, was not injured in the accident.
Meanwhile, the authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash. It was not known if drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.
