Officers Arrest Driver in San Jose Fatal Crash
San Jose, CA (January 28, 2023) – At about 4:20 a.m. on Friday, two people lost their lives in a Cottle Road stolen vehicle crash.
Officers said the traffic incident involved a stolen 2018 Hyundai sedan.
They said the vehicle was reported stolen on Thursday. It was seen speeding north on Cottle Road when it veered off the road and struck a pole at the southeast corner of the on-ramp to Blossom Hill Road.
Officers said a juvenile male driver was driving the vehicle with two passengers. Unfortunately, the male passenger died at the scene while the female passenger died at a hospital.
The driver incurred non-life-threatening injuries.
Moreover, the officers have arrested and booked the driver into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle and two counts of manslaughter.
