2 Killed in Montalba Head-On Crash
Anderson County, TX (August 7, 2024) – 19-year-old Tanner Perez was killed in a head-on crash on Highway 19 late Monday night.
It was about 10:45 p.m. when the collision happened north of Montalba, between FM 2330 and FM 860.
Troopers said a southbound Toyota Tundra driven by 18-year-old Abimael Santillian swerved into oncoming traffic and struck an 18-wheeler head-on.
Abimael Santillian and his passenger, Tanner Perez, were killed at the scene.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured in the collision. The truck was transporting frozen chicken that were spilled when it overturned.
Troopers are investigating.
