Passenger Rebecca Michael Injured in US 97 Collision [Okanogan County, WA]

Okanogan County, WA (September 12, 2024) – Rebecca Michael, 24, from Anchorage, Alaska, was injured in a US 97 collision Monday afternoon.

It was about 2:54 p.m. when the collision happened at the intersection with Monse Bridge Road.

Troopers said a red 2013 Mini Cooper driven by Tina Everly, 51, of Brewster collided with a silver 2017 Chevrolet Silverado while traveling south on the freeway.

Investigating officers said a Chevrolet Silverado driven by Daniel Bayha, 59, also from Brewster, was traveling west on Cameron Lake Road.

Bayha attempted to cross US 97 but was hit by the Mini Cooper. 

Immediately, the rescuers rushed Tina Everly and her passenger, Rebecca Michael, to Three Rivers Hospital with injuries. 

Bayha, on the other hand, was uninjured in the collision.

The Mini Cooper rolled and rested on the southbound shoulder, while the Silverado blocked the freeway.

WSP officers determined the cause of the crash was Bayha’s failure to yield when crossing US 97. There was no signs of drugs or alcohol being involved and all parties were wearing seatbelts during the collision.

The Washington State Patrol is still investigating the collision.
