Passenger Killed in Stolen Vehicle Crash on 51st Avenue [Oakland, CA]

Oakland, CA (October 8, 2024) – Two people were killed in a solo-vehicle crash on 51st Avenue early Saturday morning.

It was around 3:45 a.m. when the fatal crash happened on San Leandro Street.

Troopers said the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed in a stolen vehicle. It was eastbound on San Leandro Street when it struck a utility pole.   

Both the driver and passenger were killed at the scene.

This is an ongoing investigation and there is no update if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the Oakland vehicle crash.
