AUSTIN, TX (February 16, 2023) – Saturday morning, a passenger died in a hit-and-run crash on Rutland Lane and North Lamar Boulevard.
 
The incident happened just after 1:00 a.m. on Rutland Lane and North Lamar Boulevard.
 
According to Austin Police, a driver struck their passenger with their car and then drove off. APD confirmed that the passenger succumbed to injuries at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the preliminary information revealed that the passenger got out of the vehicle and was hit by the same vehicle.
 
At this time, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the deceased due to the pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, Austin Police confirmed that the incident marked Austin’s 10th deadly crash of 2023, resulting in 10 deaths for the year.
