Passenger Jon Archer Dies in Highway 105 Collision [Grimes County, TX]

Grimes County, TX (April 6, 2024) – Jon Archer, 31, of Benbrook, lost his life following a Highway 105 collision Friday morning.

It was approximately 7:43 a.m. when an eastbound 2015 Freightliner truck was struck head-on by a westbound 2021 Nissan passenger car.

Officers said the Nissan driven by Kaylin Corbin, 29, of Benbrook, crossed the center line and struck the Freightliner near County Road 446.

The Nissan driver and a 3-year-old passenger were taken to CHI St. Joesph Regional Health Hospital with serious injuries while a 4-year-old passenger was airlifted to Memorial Herman with serious injuries. 

Sadly, the front seat passenger, Jon Archer, was killed at the scene.

Troopers are still investigating this fatal collision, They said the Freightliner driver was not hurt in the collision.
