Driver Arrested after Suspected DUI Crash near Via Rancho Parkway

 
ESCONDIDO, CA (March 2, 2019) – A passenger suffered injuries Saturday afternoon following a wrong-way crash on Interstate 15. Authorities did not disclose the identity of the victim to the public.
 
As per reports, a southbound pickup truck collided with a northbound vehicle near Via Rancho Parkway, at about 1:38 PM.
 
Emergency responders transported one passenger in the wrong-way truck to nearby Palomar Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other pickup had a complaint of pain but did not require hospitalization.
 
Authorities arrested the driver of the wrong-way truck on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
 
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify other possible contributing factors. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the authorities as soon as possible. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
