22-Year-Old Passenger Injured in Tragic Vehicle Crash on I-5 [Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA]

Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA (March 9, 2024) Early Saturday morning, a 22-year-old Rancho Cucamonga man was hurt and a 23-year-old Denton man died in a horrific vehicle crash on I-5.

According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the tragic vehicle accident happened near Joint Base Lewis-McChord’s Main Gate.

Reports say the Denton man was driving recklessly, and as his vehicle entered northbound I-5 he lost control, consequently, his vehicle crashed into the right shoulder, crossed all lanes, and then struck the left shoulder barrier.

Officials say that another vehicle crashed into the prone vehicle due to a loss of visibility.

Authorities pronounced the Denton man dead at the scene. Meanwhile, medics rushed the 22-year-old male passenger from Rancho Cucamonga to Madigan Hospital but later transferred to Harborview.

WSP is investigating the horrific traffic incident and has not released further information at this time.
