Passenger Injured in Fatal Vehicle Crash on Highway 198 [Visalia, CA]

Visalia, CA (October 17, 2023) – A passenger was injured following a fatal vehicle crash on Highway 198 Friday night.

CHP officers responded to the rollover collision at about 7:30 p.m. westbound Highway 198 at the northbound Highway 99.

Officers said a Honda was driven on Highway 198 westbound transition road to Highway 99. CHP officers stated that the Honda travelled off the south road edge of the transition road.

 As a result, the Honda overturned down the embankment separating the lanes of the transition road from the lanes of Highway 198 westbound. 

Unfortunately, the unrestrained driver was ejected from the vehicle and the Honda rested on its wheels on the embankment. 

The passenger incurred unknown injuries but was able to free herself from the vehicle. She was then rushed to an area hospital. 

In the meantime, officers are still investigating the collision.There is no update if alcohol and/or drugs played a role in the accident.
