Passenger Injured in Fatal Vehicle Collision on San Felipe Road [San Jose, CA]

San Jose, CA (November 28, 2022) – On Saturday afternoon, a driver died and a passenger sustained injuries following a vehicle collision on San Felipe Road.

The crash took place at about 3:40 p.m. near Metcalf Road in unincorporated Santa Clara County.

According to the authorities, the 2023 Tesla they were riding barreled off of San Felipe and slammed into two trees before it rested.

The 22-year-old male driver from San Jose was thrown from the vehicle during the wreck and declared dead at the scene. 

Meanwhile, the paramedics rushed the 24-year-old passenger, also from San Jose, to a hospital. Reports say the passenger managed to climb out of the vehicle.

Investigating officers say the Tesla appears to have been running at a high rate of speed before the collision. Officers are investigating and have yet to nail down a specific cause of the accident near Metcalf Road.
