Passenger Injured in DUI Crash on B Street E [Spanaway, WA]

Spanaway, WA (August 23, 2024) – A female passenger was injured following a DUI crash on B Street E Tuesday evening.

It was about 6:34 p.m. when the collision happened an officer attempted a traffic stop on a red Tahoe at 176th Street East and Pacific Avenue S.

The Tahoe turned east on 176th and accelerated through a traffic light at B Street E. As a result, the Tahoe has collided with another vehicle and drove east.

The Tahoe driver made a loop and drove back onto westbound 176th Street E and on Spanaway Loop Road South where he sideswiped another vehicle. 

Later on, the chasing officer performed a PIT maneuver. 

The Tahoe spun out and struck a curb making the vehicle to flip into the brush. 

Moreover, a passenger was ejected from the vehicle. The accident report stated that the Tahoe had landed directly on top of the female passenger.

The rescuers tilted the vehicle and pulled the woman out and started performing CPR. Immediately, the medical team rushed the woman to an area hospital in critical condition. 

Troopers said the other driver that was from the hit-and-run crash sustained injuries.

Officers arrested the driver and rear passenger. 

The driver was arrested for felony hit-and-run, eluding, possession of a controlled substance for fentanyl and vehicular assault.
