Passenger Injured in Pursuit Crash on South Chelan Avenue [Wenatchee, WA]

Wenatchee, WA (April 17, 2023) – At about 2 p.m. Friday, a female passenger sustained injuries following a pursuit crash on South Chelan Avenue.

The East Wenatchee Police authorities were investigating a stolen gray Nissan sedan found in the alleyway of S Chelan Avenue.

Wenatchee Police Sergeant Joe Eaton described the suspect as a 30-year-old Hispanic male who is suspected of stealing a motorcycle earlier in the week.

Officers said the suspect was initially compliant but eventually drove away from the scene.

During the chase, a female passenger in the car tried getting out and her leg was run over.

Immediately, the passenger was rushed to Central Washington Hospital with minor leg injuries.

The authorities tried to stop the suspect from driving away twice, but he continued driving. However, the suspect driver ended up colliding with a parked car near Colonia Vista and fled on foot.

Officers later arrested the suspect on the 800 block of Cascade Street.

In the meantime, the Columbia River Drug Task Force is investigating this case.
