Passenger Dies in Single Vehicle Crash on Interstate 580 [Livermore, CA]

Interstate 580 Crash Kills Passenger and Injures Driver

 
Livermore, CA (April 25, 2021) – On Saturday, a passenger died and a driver was injured in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 580.
 
The fatal accident happened at 8:39 a.m. in the rural Altamont Pass.
 
Apparently, a minivan went through a guardrail on westbound Interstate 580 and rolled at least 100 feet down an embankment.
 
A passenger who was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash was thrown from the car.
 
Immediately, responders took the passenger by air to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley where they died.
 
Meanwhile, the driver was trapped inside the battered vehicle and was taken to the same hospital by a ground ambulance.
 
Officers continue to investigate the incident.
