Passenger Critically Injured in Texas 183 Collision [Irving, TX]

Driver Arrested in Irving DWI Crash

Irving, TX (September 1, 2023) – On Wednesday evening, a passenger sustained critical injuries following a Texas 183 collision.

The traffic accident happened at about 8 p.m. on westbound Texas 183 east of the highway’s split with Texas 114.

Officers said a vehicle lost control and slid into another car. The passenger of the vehicle that lost control was thrown onto the highway and sustained extremely critical injuries.

Afterward, the vehicle also struck a barrier on the left side of the highway. It spun across the lanes and then struck a barrier on the right side. 

The paramedics rushed the injured passenger to Parkland Hospital in Dallas with life-threatening injuries. The authorities said the victim is not expected to survive. 

Later on, the authorities arrested the vehicle driver on a charge of intoxication assault.

Officers are investigating.
