Paola Rojas Killed, 2 Injured in Crash on US Highway 59 [Nacogdoches County, TX]

Titus Jackson Hospitalized after 2-Vehicle Crash on US Highway 59 in Nacogdoches County

Nacogdoches County, TX (July 13, 2023) – Wednesday night, Paola Rojas, 22, died, and two others sustained injuries in a 2-vehicle crash on US Highway 59.

The Texas fatal crash on US Highway 59 happened at around 10:10 p.m. on July 12. 

DPS said a 2018 Dodge SUV was traveling north and for unknown reasons drove over into the southbound lanes, where it struck a 2006 Peterbilt truck tractor with a semi-trailer head-on. 

Troopers said after the initial collision, the Peterbilt caught fire and burned.

The driver of the Peterbilt has been identified as Titus Jackson, 46, from Coushatta, LA, and he was taken to Nacogdoches Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the Dodge, Rojas, was taken to a hospital in Tyler for treatment, DPS said. A passenger in the Dodge was ejected in the crash and pronounced dead by a Nacogdoches County justice of the peace. 

The identities of the driver and passenger are being withheld until investigators notify the next of kin.

Further investigation into this crash is ongoing.
