17-Year-Old Girl Struck by Vehicle and Killed on Palm Drive and Camino Aventura
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (March 17, 2018) – A teenage girl from Desert Hot Springs died after being struck by a vehicle on Palm Drive on Saturday evening, around 8:45 PM.
Desert Hot Springs police arrived at the scene of a crash near the intersection of Palm Drive and Camino Aventura, around 9:45 PM, after being alerted about a pedestrian collision.
17-year-old Pamela Carrillo was walking across Palm Dr, when a Ford Fusion struck her. Authorities stated that the 25-year-old La Quinta man could not stop in time and struck the pedestrian, killing her on scene. The driver remained at the scene after the collision and cooperated with investigators.
Authorities closed Palm Drive from Camino Aventura and Dillon Road for several hours after the incident for investigation and questioning.
