Roland Edward Aguilar Injured in Accident near Small Road
PALMDALE, CA (May 4, 2018) – One driver was killed and another suffered major injuries after a head-on crash on Pearblossom Highway, early Friday morning.
According to California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 5:20 AM on Pearblossom Highway, just east of Small Road. 37-year-old Roland Edward Aguilar of Palmdale was driving a 2017 Nissan Altima eastbound on the highway when his vehicle veered to the left, into the westbound lane.
The Nissan traveling into the path of a 2004 Toyota Tacoma, crashing head-on. Due to the impact of the collision, the Toyota overturned and came to a full stop on its roof, on the westbound shoulder.
The 48-year-old Palmdale man who was driving the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel. His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of his family. Aguilar was trapped in his vehicle and had to be pulled out by Los Angeles County Fire personnel. He sustained major injuries and was rushed to Antelope Valley Hospital. There is no update on his current condition.
Authorities continue to investigate the fatal accident at this time.
