Pedestrian Struck by Smart Car on W San Rafael Drive and McCarthy Road

 
PALM SPRINGS, CA (March 2, 2018) – A pedestrian was injured in a collision on W San Rafael Drive on Friday evening.
 
According to news source, the pedestrian was hit by a smart car in the intersection of W San Rafael Drive and McCarthy Road shortly before 6:30 PM. Officials were able to talk to the driver of the smart car, Ray Capusogti. Capusogti claimed that his vehicle was cruising on the road when a man was suddenly thrown onto the car’s windshield.
 
Preliminary investigation revealed that a skateboard was found at the scene but it was not confirmed if the victim was riding it before the collision. The man was transported to a hospital for treatment of what appeared to be minor injuries, and his identity was not immediately released by the authorities.
 
It was not immediately confirmed if the driver will be held accountable for the injuries of the pedestrian. Further investigation on the incident is still ongoing.
