Seal Beach Police Searching for Suspect in PCH Hit-and-Run Collision
Seal Beach, CA (February 12, 2023) On Saturday, a reckless driver caused a hit-and-run accident on Pacific Coast Highway that injured five girls.
SBPD is searching for the suspect driver in the hit-and-run collision that happened at about 7:15 p.m. at the intersection of PCH and Main Street.
Reports say that a driver was driving recklessly in a gold 1987 Mercedes Benz 300 in Huntington Beach before the collision happened.
Afterward, the reckless driver crashed into a vehicle turning left at the intersection. Officials say that the suspect was reaching 80 miles an hour.
Seal Beach Police Department says that the collision serious injuries to several people. Meanwhile, the suspect driver fled the scene before first responders arrived.
Medics transported the girls, all young ballet dancers, to a hospital. Two girls, Rhyann Diaz and Camille, are said to have suffered the most serious injuries.
Police are actively searching for the suspect driver. Authorities claim the suspect is a man between 18 and 20 years old. His height is around 5 feet and 10 inches tall; he was last seen wearing a maroon t-shirt.
