Single Car Crash into Tree Near Blackburn Road Injures 23-Year-Old Mount Vernon Man
MOUNT VERNON, WA (February 1, 2018) – The Washington State Patrol reported a single-vehicle crash on the southbound Interstate 5 near Blackburn Road, around 4:37 PM on late Thursday afternoon.
Owen Feingold, 23, of Mount Vernon, was traveling southbound in a black 2008 Ford Focus, when he swerved off the road to the right, and crashed head-on into a tree.
Fire personnel, police officials, and medical responders arrived at the scene of the crash. Heavy equipment was used to extricate Feingold from the severely damaged car. He was seriously injured and was transported to the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash. They do not believe that alcohol was a factor in this accident; possible charges are pending at this time. The Ford was totaled and impounded for evidence.
