Randy Rankins and Beth Knox Hurt in 3-Vehicle Fatal Collision on I-20
Smith County, TX (May 2, 2023) On Wednesday afternoon, 50-year-old Otabek Mamadaliev of Newburgh, New York, died after a 3-vehicle crash on I-20.
Reports say that the fatal collision happened on I-20 about three miles west of Lindale.
Reports say that Mamadaliev was on a 2020 Volvo truck tractor towing a Cottrell semi-trailer that rear-ended a 2013 Freightliner driven by 54-year-old Randy Rankins of Statesville, North Carolina.
DPS says that Rankins’ vehicle collided with the rear of a 2019 Freightliner driven by 60 -year-old Jared Williams, of Shreveport, Louisiana, consequently pushing it toward a 2009 Hyundai Sonata driven by 56-year-old Beth Knox, of Lindale.
Authorities say that Mamadaliev died in the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, Rankins and Knox sustained injuries, while Williams did not suffer injuries.
Officials say that all people involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, and it was raining and the road was wet when the incident happened.
