1 Person Hospitalized in Grant County Auto Accident on Road 6 Northwest and Adams Road
GRANT COUNTY, WA (October 26, 2024) – Tuesday afternoon, Oswaldo Cortez sustained injuries in an alarming two-vehicle crash on Road 6 Northwest and Adams Road.
The incident happened at the intersection of Road 6 Northwest and Adams Road.
According to Sheriff’s spokesperson, Kyle Foreman, a tractor-trailer truck ran a stop sign and collided with another tractor-trailer truck.
Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated the driver of the second semi, identified as 45-year-old Cortez of Quincy, who was trapped inside the wreckage. Then, paramedics transported Cortez to Quincy Valley Medical Center with minor injuries.
Authorities said that the driver of the first semi, identified as 48-year-old Farhad Khwaja, and his passenger, 42-year-old Augustine Iyamu, refused further treatment at the scene.
Officers cited Khwaja for causing the collision by failing to stop at the sign.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
