Oscar Vargas-Cervantes Injured in Crippling Off-Road Crash on Ice House Road [Loon Lake, CA]

Brandon Pierce Arrested after Loon Lake Rollover Accident on Ice House Road

LOON LAKE, CA (July 12, 2023) – Tuesday night, a crippling off-road crash on Ice House Road injured Oscar Vargas-Cervantes.

According to reports, the off-road vehicle rollover happened on July 1st at 4:29 p.m. on Ice House Road.

The Georgetown Fire Department, the U.S. Forest Service, California Highway Patrol, and the CALSTAR air ambulance all came to the crash scene.

According to reports, 27-year-old Brandon E Pierce of Yuba City drove a Can-Am Maverick off-road, side-by-side vehicle. Also, he traveled with his passenger identified as 26-year-old Vargas-Cervantes of Sacramento.

The officers suspect Pierce of driving while intoxicated. Hence, they arrested him or charges related to DUI causing injury. The CHP officers took him into custody at the scene.

Meanwhile, a CALSTAR ambulance transported Vargas-Cervantes to Renown Medical Center in Reno, Nev. Reports said that he suffered possible serious head injuries.

Reports said that two Georgetown Fire Department volunteers were the first to arrive and started initiating advanced life support care. Then, they confirmed that the vehicle had overturned for over approximately 50 feet off the roadway.

They added that both Pierce and Vargas-Cervantes suffered injuries.

Brown also added that off-highway vehicles such as side-by-sides are not allowed on Ice House Road and DUI is “always prohibited everywhere.”

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
