Oscar Rodriguez Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Collision near D Street and Fourth Street in Perris
PERRIS, CA (May 6, 2020) – On Tuesday night, Oscar Rodriguez died in a pedestrian accident on the southbound lanes of the 215 Freeway.
California Highway Patrol revealed that the fatal crash occurred just after 9:35 p.m., on the southbound lanes, between D Street and Fourth Street.
However, the events leading up to the collision remain unclear.
According to reports, emergency responders declared a pedestrian, now identified as Mr. Rodriguez, dead at the scene after being struck by a vehicle on the roadway. The collision also scattered debris across the lanes of the 215 Freeway.
A witness also revealed that they hit some of the debris on the roadway from the pickup truck involved.
Authorities closed down the surrounding area on the 215 Freeway during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the lanes reopened by 12:40 a.m. the next day.
Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department added that the crash investigation is currently being handled by the California Highway Patrol.
