33-Year-Old Lake Forest Man Identified as Pedestrian Killed near Rockfield Boulevard
LAKE FOREST, CA (September 24, 2018) – A man was killed Monday evening following a pedestrian collision near Rockfield Boulevard. The victim was later identified as 33-year-old Oscar Martinez, a resident of Lake Forest.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Ridge Route Drive and Rockfield Boulevard, at about 10:30 PM. Events that led to the fatal crash were not immediately available.
Martinez suffered a severe head wound and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Meanwhile, the driver that hit the victim did not stop to render aid and fled the site of the crash.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision and to identify the hit-and-run driver and the vehicle involved.
