Oscar De La Mora Marin of Reedley Arrested in Highway 101 Fatal Crash [San Luis Obispo, CA]

San Luis Obispo, CA (January 23, 2024) – A 32-year-old Fresno woman was killed and the authorities arrested Oscar De La Mora Marin in a Highway 101 fatal crash Sunday night.

It was around 10:42 p.m. on January 21 when the deadly DUI collision happened south of the Del Rio Road.

Officers said 37-year-old Oscar De La Mora Marin of Reedley and his passenger were traveling in a southbound Subaru on the freeway over-crossing in the #1 lane at around 90 to 100 miles per hour. 

Investigators stated that due to Marin’s intoxication, his vehicle swerved into the center divider. Marin attempted to return his vehicle to the roadway but overcorrected. The vehicle spun in a clockwise direction and traveled across both southbound lanes. 

The vehicle then left the freeway, rolled over, and rested on its left facing a frontage road to the freeway. 

During the rollover, Marin’s passenger was thrown from the vehicle and incurred major injuries. The paramedics rushed her to Sierra Vista Medical Center where she was declared deceased. 

Moreover, the authorities arrested Marin for felony driving under the influence charges. They booked him into the San Luis Obispo County Jail. Officers suspect alcohol was a factor in this fatal collision.
