2 Vehicles Involved in Deadly Crash on Highway 70 in Oroville
OROVILLE, CA (January 20, 2019) – At least one person was killed following a high-speed fiery crash on Highway 70 near Cox Lane.
The fatal crash happened around 6:28 p.m., just between Palermo and Robinson’s Corner.
According to an initial log, two vehicles were involved, one of them was speeding at 90 mph.
One vehicle reportedly burst into flames and one occupant was pulled out from the burning car with a complaint of pain to the leg.
Air and land medical transportation were dispatched to the scene for several people who were hurt, with possible major injuries.
Tragically, at least one fatality was reported as a result of the crash. The identity of the victim has not yet been released pending next of kin notification.
The highway was shut down in both directions and there was no estimated time of clearing.
This incident remains under investigation.
