4 Injured in Goshen Auto Accident on Road 68
GOSHEN, CA (June 11, 2020) – The police arrested Orlando Sagaste-Lopez following a DUI injury crash on Road 68 on June 6th.
According to reports, 29-year-old Orlando Sagaste-Lopez of Tulare drove a 2003 Honda sedan northbound on Road 68 at around 55 mph.
The CHP revealed that at 6:37 p.m., Sagaste-Lopez let his car steer into the southbound lane. Also, he didn’t stop his vehicle when the car went off the west edge of Road 68 due to his “level of alcohol intoxication.”
Then, Sagaste-Lopez overcorrected his vehicle as he steered to the right. His maneuver led his Honda’s rear to spin clockwise, and its left rear crashed into a power pole.
The crash also caused the rear to rotate counterclockwise. As a result, two of the rear occupants were thrown off.
After the incident, Sagaste-Lopez stayed in the car until a passing motorist helped. Among the four passengers, three of them sustained major injuries. They are identified as 34-year-old Benny Velazquez, 20-year-old Yamilex Aguilera, and 27-year-old Miguel Velazquez.
Meanwhile, the other passenger, 18-year-old Angelica Sanchez, and Orlando Sagaste-Lopez suffered minor injuries. An ambulance transported all four passengers to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia.
