MORRO BAY, CA (November 11, 2022) – Saturday, authorities arrested Orion Messina after a deadly crash on Highway 41 and Bear Ridge Road.
 
The incident happened just before noon on Highway 41, south of Bear Ridge Road.
 
According to reports, 19-year-old Orion Messina drove a 2004 Suzuki Grand Vitara south on the highway. Then, he said that he drove around 55 mph but the vehicle hydroplaned when he entered a right-hand curve.
 
Afterward, the car crashed into a hillside and overturned.
 
As a result, the 16-year-old passenger in the car who failed to wear a seatbelt was ejected. Then, responders declared that Atascadero teen dead at the scene.
 
Moreover, officers revealed that alcohol appeared to be a factor in the crash.
 
Meanwhile, authorities confirmed that they arrested Orion Messina.
