Oren Schurter Killed in Head-On Collision on Lake Street [Lake Elsinore, CA]

78-Year-Old Lake Elsinore Man Fatally Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash near Temescal Canyon Road

 
LAKE ELSINORE, CA (July 10, 2018) – An elderly man was killed Tuesday evening following a head-on collision between two vehicles near Temescal Canyon Road. 78-year-old Oren Schurter of Lake Elsinore was later identified as the victim in this incident.
 
As per reports, the collision took place shortly before 8:30 PM on Lake Street. The CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters arrived at the scene and found two vehicles involved in a serious traffic collision.
 
Events leading to the collision were not immediately available to the public.
 
Schurter and another driver had to be extricated from their vehicles and were transported to the Inland Valley Medical Center after sustaining moderate injuries. Unfortunately, Schurter succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 9:59 PM. There is no update on the condition of the second driver.
 
Authorities believe that alcohol did not play a role in the deadly collision.
