Motorcyclist Found Dead Off Highway 33 in Ojai Identified by Authorities
OJAI, CA (September 23, 2019) – Authorities have identified the motorcyclist found dead off Highway 33 above Ojai as Oran Bloodsworth, 54, of Oceanside.
CHP officials said Bloodsworth was riding his 2019 Indian motorcycle.
His family reported him missing and Ventura County Sheriff’s personnel searched the area Monday. At around 12:30 p.m., the sheriff’s Air Squad 8 helicopter crew spotted his body about 100 feet from the highway, just south of Cherry Creek Road. The site is between Rose Valley and Lockwood Valley roads.
CHP officials said Bloodsworth was riding northbound on Highway 33 when he lost control, left the roadway, and crashed. As a result, he died at the scene.
Because the crash was in a wooded, remote area, it was not immediately reported to law enforcement.
The CHP and Ventura County Medical Examiner are investigating the cause of the crash.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the loved ones and friends of Oran Bloodsworth during this delicate time.
