Car Catches Fire in Multi-Car Collision near Highway 55
TUSTIN, CA (March 4, 2019) – One person was trapped in a fiery car crash on northbound 5 Freeway, Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 7:49 AM, just north of Highway 55. Based on an initial report, the Acura caught fire after colliding with five other vehicles and hitting the center divider’s wall.
One person was seen sitting inside the car on fire, unconscious. The paramedics were requested for needed medical attention. They had not yet released a report regarding any injury sustained by the victim.
The No. 1 to 5 lanes were temporarily closed due to the commotion. Towing services were requested for a clearing operation was conducted in the area. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
