Major Injuries Sustained in Morning Head-On Crash in Folsom
FOLSOM, CA (July 28, 2019) – At least one person was seriously injured following a head-on crash on white rock road Sunday morning in Folsom.
The crash happened around 8:35 a.m., at the intersection of White Rock Road and Scott Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white Honda sedan was passing through a no passing zone when it collided head-on with a motorcycle. A dark gray Mazda that was stopped in the right shoulder was also hit, causing airbag deployment inside the car.
Arriving paramedics transported at least one patient to a hospital with major injuries. However, there has been no update on their current condition.
Furthermore, Folsom police are still investigating the incident at this time. More information will be provided when accessible.
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time during preliminary investigation. However, the roadway has since reopened.
Avoid head-on crashes by staying well centered in your lane, where oncoming traffic is less likely to stray and where you can get to the shoulder or side of the road more quickly. Also, always adhere to designated speeds. You will have more time to react to a hazard and, should a collision occur, it will not be as damaging at a lower speed.
