Dump Truck Involved in Deadly Crash in Oso
OSO, WA (June 6, 2019) – An unidentified driver was killed Thursday morning in a car collision on 530 Freeway involving a dump truck.
Washington State Patrol stated the accident occurred around 9:00 AM, at the Oso Landslide Memorial on the 530 Freeway. Officials also stated that an SUV and a dump truck collided with each other. However, it is currently unknown how the accident occurred.
Several Samaritans pulled over to aid the SUV driver and performed CPR. First responders continued to help the victim. However, the driver succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. It is also unknown if the dump truck driver was injured in the accident. Their identities are unknown at this time.
Traffic was blocked for a brief period of time as a result of the impact. Cleaning crews were also dispatched to clean up debris left on the road.
There has been no further information released regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident at this time as the investigation continues.
