One Dead after in Bakersfield Bicycle Collision on Kentucky Street
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 11, 2019) — A person suffered fatal injuries in a bicycle collision on Kentucky Street on Saturday, September 7.
Around 9:20 p.m., officers responded to the 1000 block of Kentucky Street for a report of a traffic incident involving a pedestrian. During their investigation, officers figured out that a vehicle traveling westbound struck the man riding his bike.
The vehicle fled the area. However, there is currently no details on its color, make or model.
After that vehicle left the scene, another vehicle struck the bicyclist lying in the road, according to BPD.
The driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
The bicyclist lying in the street died at the scene. The Kern County Coroner’s Office has not yet released his identity.
