Injuries Sustained in Two Car Collision
SPOKANE, WA (May 9, 2019) – Multiple injuries were sustained in a major car crash involving two vehicles on Freya Way Thursday morning.
Authorities responded at the intersection of Greene Street and Freya Way. An unidentified vehicle traveling northbound across the bridge struck the center divider for unknown reasons. Then, the vehicle consequently hit another oncoming car.
The driver who initiated the crash had to be extricated and sustained life threatening injuries as a result.
Furthermore, the other victim involved was also injured. Both drivers were taken to a hospital for further medical evaluation. However, there has been no update on their current medical status.
According to witnesses, a passenger hobbled away from the scene. Officers are still looking for the passenger. Due to the crash, the bridge was closed in both directions.
Officers believe alcohol or drugs may have been a contributing factor in the collision. There has been no further information released at this time. There is still currently an ongoing investigation of the crash.
