Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Fairfax Road in Bakersfield
Bakersfield, CA (May 10, 2020)– On Sunday evening, one male pedestrian and his dog died on the corner of Fairfax Road and Eucalyptus Drive after being hit by a vehicle.
Information on this accident is still limited, but the California Highway Patrol did identify the deceased victim as male.
Reportedly, CHP received notice of an unconscious man on the side of the road at around 8:30 p.m. Immediately, they attended to the scene of the accident, and they dispatched the fire department and local authorities.
Police later shut down northbound and southbound traffic on Fairfax between Eucalyptus and Pioneer in response to the incident.
Since first responders could not resuscitate the victim, they summoned the Kern County coroner’s office. Soon after, the coroner who arrived at the scene declared the man dead.
By all accounts, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene of the accident.
Furthermore, local towing services removed the vehicle involved from the scene as evidence.
