Pickup Truck Catches Fire in Fatal Old Olympic Highway Accident
PORT ANGELES, WA (September 2, 2019) – One person died in a pickup truck crash on Highway 101 northbound on Monday afternoon.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident happened near Old Olympic Highway at approximately 2:00 PM. Based on an initial report, the driver of the pick-up truck hauling a trailer lost control while approaching the county line. It then crashed into nearby trees and caught fire in the incident.
Among four people inside the truck, authorities pronounced an adult dead at the scene. The victim’s identity is not yet released. In addition, a juvenile also suffered serious injuries.
Both northbound and southbound lanes closed while authorities cleaned up the area.
The investigation is ongoing and no further details are immediately known.
