One Dead after Bonsall Motorcycle Collision on Highway 76
BONSALL, CA (October 21, 2019) — One person suffered fatal injuries after a motorcycle collision on Highway 76 on Saturday, October 19.
The accident happened at about 6:15 p.m. along Highway 76 at Sweetgrass Lane. According to California Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet Silverado pulling a horse trailer entered the intersection to merge onto Highway 76 from southbound Sweetgrass Lane. Then it collided into a Harley-Davidson Street Glide moving west on Highway 76.
Medics brought the 43-year-old motorcyclist from San Bernardino to Palomar Medical Center for treatment. However, the patient died on his way to the hospital, according to Officer Mark Latulippe.
The 24-year-old woman from Hemet who drove the Silverado was not hurt. Her two passengers — a 25-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman — also survived the incident without injuries.
The CHP said the collision was under investigation. Officers do not consider drugs or alcohol as a factor in the incident.
