Logging Truck and Sedan Involved in Fatal Crash on Highway 299 in Redding
REDDING, CA (June 19, 2019) – One unidentified person was killed Wedensday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 299.
The crash happened around 4:26 p.m., along the eastbound lanes of Highway 299.
CHP officials located a black Toyota Prius and an empty logging truck on the right shoulder of the highway upon arrival. The rear-axle of the truck was shifted. The Prius also sustained a major front-end damage.
A coroner was dispatched to the site and confirmed one fatality as a result of the crash. The identity of the victim was not immediately available pending next of kin notification.
Details surrounding the collision were not made clear in the reports and media releases. An investigation is still ongoing.
