Car Crashes into Tree on Camino Tassajara Killing the Driver
DANVILLE, CA (September 13, 2019) – One person was killed following a suspected DUI crash late Friday evening in Danville, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 11:27 p.m. on Camino Tassajara near Blackhawk Drive and Charbray Street.
CHP officials said a BMW lost control and crashed into a tree. Emergency personnel arrived on the scene and found the male driver trapped inside the car. They worked for more than an hour to free the driver from the wreckage.
An air ambulance then transported the driver to a nearby hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, the man was declared dead early Saturday morning. His identity was not immediately available pending next of kin notification.
Investigators found evidence of alcohol use in the car but have not yet said if it contributed to the crash.
