5 Vehicles Involved in Deadly Morning Crash on 60 Freeway in Diamond Bar
DIAMOND BAR, CA (August 4, 2019) – One person died following a multi-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Diamond Bar.
The crash happened around 4:43 a.m. on eastbound 60 Freeway at Grand Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, five vehicles, including a sedan and an SUV, are involved in the crash.
The vehicles drove in the middle lanes of the freeway when authorities arrived. After that, police located one occupant ejected in the lanes. However, that person suffered fatal injuries. As a result, police pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Another patient was critically injured and hospitalized.
A male driver in one of the vehicles, wearing a maroon shirt and a khaki pants, reportedly took off.
The crash closed all eastbound lanes of 60 Freeway at Grand Avenue and a SigAlert was issued in the area. All lanes were reopened around 9:48 a.m.
No identifying information is being released at this time. However, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
